Ann Marie Costa has directed professionally at Triad Stage, Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte, Charlotte Repertory Theatre, Festival Stage of Winston-Salem, Blowing Rock Theatre Company, Mill Mountain Theatre (Roanoke), Victory Gardens (Chicago), Theatre Factory (St. Louis), and Theatre Project (St. Louis). Her professional directing highlights include: In the Next Room or The Vibrator Play, Dead Man’s Cell Phone, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?, The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Rumors, Keep on the Sunny Side: The Songs and Story of the Original Carter Family, Intimate Apparel, The Scene, Sister Calling My Name, River City and Mrs. Klein. Her production of Theresa Rebeck’s The Scene at Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte won 10 Metrolina Theatre Awards including outstanding direction and outstanding comedy. She received her B.F.A in Drama/Musical Theater from the Boston Conservatory of Music and her M.F.A in Directing from the University of Pittsburgh. She is the Samuel E. and Mary W. Thatcher Professor of Theatre at Davidson College.
